Legislation places the responsibility for Legionella control on employers and those responsible for buildings.

Legal duties include identifying and assessing sources of risk; preparing a scheme to prevent or control risk; implementing, managing and monitoring precautions; keeping records of precautions and appointing someone to be responsible for managing the water system.

The Health and Safety Executive’s code of practice and guidance also sets out the responsibilities of suppliers of service, such as water treatment and maintenance, as well as the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, suppliers and installers.

As health and safety professionals with more than 20 years’ experience in Legionella control and water treatment we are ideally placed to help you understand your legal responsibilities and help keep you compliant.
